James Whyte - Operations Manager Dry Goods Division

James is solutions focused saying, "there are no problems, only solutions." He brings an extensive knowledge of the New Zealand transport network, having spent the last ten years driving around the country and managing dispatch.

With his extensive knowledge and understanding of the carrying capacity of trucks, he can optimise load space and travel distance to get the best outcome for Icon Logistics customers. With his experience, he understands the challenges drivers are facing and can work alongside them to provide support.

For James, Icon Logistics is like a family, always looking out for its team, with a strong focus on health and safety. Going above and beyond for the customer is also a big part of the Icon Logistics culture. James finds it incredibly rewarding to come up with creative solutions to meet customers' needs by thinking outside the box.

James has worked in the transport industry for over ten years. He joined the Dynes Group working for Dunedin Carrying in 2011 and was initially driving a log truck, milk tanker and working in dispatch. In 2016, he began driving curtainsiders. From there, he moved into the office and assisted with dry goods dispatch and in 2018, moved into Operations Manager, joining Icon Logistics in early 2021.
